[Hiya,
Well ..... now I've worked out how to add photos from other people's blogs, I can join Measi's link up (if it is still open) which needed a photo before it would accept my post (updated 18.01.18).]
Well, I realise I absolutely must join in with Measi's WIPocolypse if I am ever to finish all the WIP's that have accumulated on my Shelf of Shame. Or maybe I'm too late to link up, but anyway ..... you can read all about it and maybe link up too HERE.
So, if you don't already know, this is a fun SAL where we link up to try to encourage ourselves to finish those lurking WIPs that have become UFO's.......
Measi has asked us to introduce ourselves, soooo here goes ......
Hi, I'm Barbara, blogging from South East England.
I live with my long suffering DH (Darling Hubbie) and two little monsters (cats).
DH and I are both retired and, when the monsters allow us time off from caring for them we scan the interweb searching for veggie/vegan restaurants to inspect/approve. We both enjoy reading, and strangely enough we like the same type of books, mainly historical fiction.
This year I am going to try to FFO (fully finish off) a few of my unfinished stitching projects (all previously blogged about).
I am definitely not a OAAT (one at a time) stitcher and so my list is endless!! These are a few I'd really like to finish, and this year would be good:
Cross Stitch:
- Camper Van - started last year - just needs handles.
- Bee needle case - started last year - just needs FFO.
- Etoilé thread sampler - needs framing.
- Easter cross stitch piece - framing.
- Polka Dot Lady quilt - finishing.
- "Stitches" - unfinished.
- Night time - finishing.
- Tatty Teddy
- Polka Dot lady
- Dormouse
- Laundry day
- Name badge
- Plus two others
- Goldwork picture
- Stitch sampler bag
I just know there are others I've overlooked but I'll add them later.
Pin cushion swap
I've recently joined a Pin Cushion Swap over at "Beaquilter" and I really must press on, unfortunately though ....... my sewing machine died last week, and this week DH and I have been searching the Internet trying to decide what new machine to get. Some friends have made suggestions and I've been investigating those machines but its so hard to decide, so for now all my stitching is by hand.
I've finished January's pin cushion and just need to post it to its recipient. Then I hope to be back to show the pin cushion I have already received.
Hand Stitch QAL
There is a Hand Stitching QAL over at Patty Dudek's blog - Elm Street Quilts, and, as I am already hand stitching by necessity I will see how I go at joining in!
Hugs
Barbara xxx

I look forward to seeing your finished projects!
You will have a happy new stitchy year with lots of work awaiting you. Now that your sewing machine is slumbering, you have ample time to finish those cross stitch projects.
Have fun!
Hi Barb fingers crossed for you that you get most finished of the list,i look forward to watching your progress on them xx
From one OAAT to another, I hope you get some of those UFO's finished this year. New sewing machine shopping is truly the most difficult of tasks. There are so many out there to choose from, not to mention if they are any good or not. One reads of so many 'buying a lemon' stories. I will be interested in reading about which machine you finally decide upon. May you have a great year filled with oodles of stitching and pleasant times spent with your DH and your sweet cats.
Good luck with your FFO year! You have a lot of lovely projects to work on so you can still alternate through them as you please. I look forward to seeing your progress!
Hi Barbara, it looks like you have a lot of fun projects planned for this new year. Recently I completed my first cross stitch and it was so much fun. Thank you for the kind comment on my blog. You can find me on Instagram under Patricia Shaker. Have a wonderful week. Pat 🤗🎀🤗
Happy New Year Barbara! My you have a lot of projects on your list to finish off and I am excited to watch your progress! Hope 2019 brings you much happiness and lots of finishes!! Hugs Christine xx
Happy New Year, Barbara and good luck with those UFOs I'm looking forward to seeing them again and I'm sure you'll be starting new ones too :)
Good luck with completing those UFOs and making them FFOs!
Good luck Barbara! xx
A lot of stitchy plans and work to complete this year Barbara, we shall all be watching your progress.
Looking forward to seeing what you craft this year Barbara. The QAL sounds interesting, I shall have to go and look at that, I have only attended a day class on a basic project before so something new to maybe try this year (and get some practice on the sewing machine)
Lots of projects - I look forward to seeing them! Love the new-to-me acronyms too!!
Sounds like you have some great plans for the year and I will be cheering you on from the sidelines. I'm one of the rare people that only has a couple of UFO's (beyond having a number of crazy quilt round robin blocks that are technically finished but not finished INTO anything). Apartment life, by nature, means there simply isn't room to have unfinished projects piled up.
Congrats on the blogger Level Up on photo posting haha :D And good on you for working towards finishing up some languishing WIPs and saving the world. The pincushion swap is such a cute idea.
So nice to read more about you Barb as we have just become new bloggy friends. I think you will be very busy this year and I look forward to seeing all of your pretty finishes. RJ@stitchingfriendsforever
It looks like you've got your cross stitching under control!
I hope you get your sewing machine soon, I'm sure there's quite a few to choose from.
Nice to meet you! Great list and a nice variety of projects too. Looking forward to following your progress this year.
