PPPP - My "Ugly" Pincushion

Linking to Ida's PPPP with my "ugliest" pincushion:

The Flashing Scissors

I guess it's not really too ugly, maybe I've just grown tired of it ..... or covered it with too many odds and ends!

The Flashing Scissors

I found it difficult to show this pincushion to its best advantage.

Ohhh! I have to admit ..... I didn't make this one! I fell in love with it at a local quilting exhibition. I'd wanted to make one like it for sooooo long that when I saw it I had to have it!

The poor thing .... I do tend to use it to keep all my odd threads safe!

The Flashing Scissors

Taking it into the garden showed off the colours better.

The Flashing Scissors

I daresay you might have guessed ....
the ribbon round the outside holds cotton reels .....but it is just a bit fiddly when one wants to use the reel in the middle for stitching on the sewing machine!

Thank you, Ida for encouraging us to share pictures of our pincushions again this year!

Barbara I don't think it's ugly at all but nonetheless thanks for posting it... I think sometimes our favorites get overloaded with odds and ends...

I do like it Barbara - just my colours! I can imagine your frustration with the thread reels though. xx

I don't think it's ugly either, but I can see it's not a very practical design for the reels!

It's a very nice pincushion - not ugly at all :)

Ugly? I don't think so!! Doubt I'd want the thread spools on it either, but otherwise it's great.

Interesting pincushion although it doesn't look ugly. Thanks for posting.

Like the others I don't think that it's an ugly pincushion. The colours are very nice. But if you are tired of seeing it all the time just change it out for another one, just for a while.

I like your pincushion and the idea to hold cotton reels although I suppose a bit fiddly to use. Pretty colours too.

Your pincushion is so interesting and beautiful colours. I can see that the thread thing is way too fiddly to be useful. Maybe you should take the ribbon out and put tassels on it instead. That would look quite stupendous!

I was gifted one like this s and look it to a class once - a lady fell in love and made her own - apparently they are very fiddly to make!
