Trick or Treat Blog Hop 2020

Today I’m linking to Jo of Serendipitous Stitching for her annual Trick or Treat Blog Hop. (Find out more on Jo’s blog)

DH and I have never really celebrated Halloween ..... much ..... I could tell you about the year when our Halloween decorations almost set our porch on fire, tee hee, but we’re here for some stitching and a little crochet I couldn’t resist making this year!

Previously I’ve watched Jo's Blog Hops and collected a few Halloween cross stitch patterns, and this year  I stitched - Boo, a free pattern from Happiness is Cross Stitching.  Unfortunately I ran out of time and haven’t managed to make it into a “flat fold” ..... yet! I made one tiny change from the pattern though and stitched the little ghost in grey as I don’t think he’d have been visible at all!

On Instagram @chaicoffeecrochet I found this cute little witch - Zena! She is such a sweetie! There is a free pattern and you can find her and others on the blog Chai Coffee Crochet - here

(Zeena is approximately 4.5" tall)

Zeena

And I just couldn’t resist making this little guy:

Howl

There was a competition on Instagram but as my Howl didn't really meet any of the categories I didn't join in.

The free pattern for Howl can be found here at Cafe del Craft!

Zeena and Howl had great fun,
messing around at the photoshoot

Oh, and one more thing, of course, the letter you’re looking for is: (and just imagine this bit is centred, because I can't find the centering thingy!!!!)

“S”

If you are taking part in the Hop, the next blog to visit is:

Thank you for popping in. Have a great Halloween!!

Stay Safe and well!

At home we do not celebrate Halloween, although in recent years it is a custom that is penetrating among the younger population especially.
I like your details, especially that naughty crochet ghost.

Thanks for taking part in the Halloween Blog Hop this year.
The freebie is very cute and I love your little witch with her pet ghost! I have passed the links to a friend who crochets, along with a very heavy hint LOL

We've never really done much to celebrate Halloween but I agree some of the decorations are fun. I love your wee Zeena and Howl -very cute! (if you're concerned about the ghost showing up in your Boo stitchery, perhaps you could outline stitch him (her?) with a slightly darker colour of thread - maybe single strand? )

That ghost is very cute. I have never managed to crochet with anything other can strips of plastic carrier bag, and that did not go too well so I am always super impressed with others skill.

I love the witch! I have a friend that has a daughter Zeta that went trick or treating as a witch, who's also blonde! And she crochets! I'm sharing that pattern with her, thank you.

Crochet is one of those skills I'd really like to achieve one day, i started a waistcoat once and loat count so badly on each row across that it was half the size by the other side! I love the cute little ghost

RONI Thank you for your visit and comment! I cannot reply directly to you so I hope you return here again.
I struggled with crochet too when I first started but there are loads of tutorials on line these days to help you. One blog I found which helps tremendously is Planet June which you can find here: https://www.planetjune.com/blog/tutorials/crochet-tutorials/ Although she is mainly for Amigurumi Crochet but the tutorials may still help!
Thank you for visiting!

I love your stitching. I think grey was a good choice for the ghost (so we can see him) and your crochet characters are wonderful :)

Your stitched piece is cute. It has all the "scary" things for Halloween; a ghost, spider and bat! I especially love your Zeena and Howl though!
